Facility Access, Activities, and Programs FAQ

UCCS Campus Recreation is open! 

Campus Recreation Update March 19th 
Campus Recreation facilities remain open while El Paso County is in Level Yellow.  

Beginning Monday, March 22nd until further notice, here’s what to expect: 

We will no longer require reservations to utilize our facilities.  

You can now come and utilize Campus Recreation facilities without a reservation. You will still need to complete the UCCS Wellness Check prior to arriving and swipe in through our turnstiles with either your ID or the barcode found after logging into our UCCS Campus Rec app.  

We will no longer be closing every 80 minutes; our facilities will remain open and accessible from the time we open to when we close. Our staff will continue to perform thorough sanitization cleaning cycles every 90 minutes throughout the day.  

We still have capacity limitations we are required to meet; there are still max capacity signs found around our facilities and the fitness floor is still broken up into smaller areas to aid in ensuring capacity limitations are being respected. Our staff will be monitoring capacity limitations throughout the day.  

You can view a live tracker of our current facility occupancy by visiting https://campusrec.uccs.edu/FacilityOccupancy. You can also view the current facility occupancy on our app by clicking on the “Facility Occupancy Counter” icon.  

The North Fitness Floor, South Fitness Floor, Courts A & B, and Courts C & D will continue to have a maximum occupancy of 50.  

You can continue to play open recreation with others if you abide by capacity limitations (25 people per Sports Court) and wear face coverings. We will have staff monitoring to ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to.   

Partner workouts are permitted, and we are still not requiring wristbands. 

Patrons must still maintain at least 6 feet of distance between each other, and face coverings are required.  

Our track has a maximum capacity of 12 patrons with social distancing.  

The climbing gym can host up to 7 climbers wearing face coverings while remaining socially distant. The Bike Shop and the Ski/Wax Shop are both available for drop-in use with a max capacity of two people. 

Group Fitness classes allow up to 24 people in Group Fitness Room 2 and 9 people in Group Fitness Room 1.  

General and outdoor equipment rentals are available for checkout. Curbside pickup is available upon request. Visit our website at recwellness.uccs.edu/campus-rec for more details or email us at rec@uccs.edu for questions.  

Currently, we are still only making our facilities, programs, and services available to students and UCCS Community members and the Aquatics Center remains closed until further notice. 

Alpine Field is currently open Monday – Thursday 6am-10pm and Friday 6am-9pm. Equipment check-out is found at the Recreation & Wellness Center Guest Services desk (font desk). Please note that there may be times the field is offline/unavailable due to programs, activities, maintenance, and club sport reservations.
