Medical Appointments

Health Services is currently offering in-person appointments, as well as telehealth appointments for students residing in Colorado.  For all appointments, call 719-255-4444.

  • If you are having a medical or mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to an emergency room as we are unable to attend to emergencies. A list of local urgent cares and emergency rooms can be found at: https://recwellness.uccs.edu/health-services/general-information/after-hours-care
  • For those students seeking a telehealth appointment, you will need to download the Microsoft Teams app on your phone or computer and have access to audio and/or video capabilities. If you need assistance downloading Microsoft Teams app on your smart phone or computer, please contact UCCS OIT at 719-255-4357.
  • In-person and telehealth visits are $20. 

The Wellness Center offers in-person and telehealth appointments (for students that currently reside in Colorado).  Services offered: 

  • Acute illness, infections, injuries (sprains/strains, joint pain, head injury), allergic reactions, abdominal pain/nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, and more.
  • Hormone therapy
  • Evaluation and treatment of chronic conditions such as: asthma, thyroid, migraines, autoimmune disease, refill chronic condition medications.
  • Skin conditions such as rash, acne, skin lesions, eczema
  • Referral to specialists
  • Minor procedures such as wart treatment, abscess drainage, lacerations
  • Urinary tract/bladder infections
  • Medication consults, management, and refills
  • Gynecology/women’s health services
  • Birth control consults
  • Sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment
  • Physicals-sports, work, general, well woman exams
  • Mental health medication evaluation and management
  • Immunizations, Tuberculosis screening, flu shots
  • Select lab testing
  • Allergy shot adminstration
  • Covid testing
  • And so much more!

Healthcare providers, including a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner,  offer a range of services, including the ability to prescribe medications to support students’ health, mental health, and wellbeing. Services offered include:

  • Mental Health prescribing (i.e. depression and anxiety)

  • ADHD medications

  • Medication consults, management, and refills

  • Gynecology/woman’s health services
  • Birth control consults
  • Sexually transmitted Infection testing, counseling, and treatment
  • Vaginal infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • PrEP and nPeP

We now host monthly LARC Clinics (IUDs and implants insertions) and FREE walk-in  STI testing on the 3rd Thursday of each month in partnership with the El Paso County Public Health Department.  

  • Rapid lab testing run onsite including Strep, Mono, Flu, Urine Pregnancy, Urinalysis, and COVID-19
  • Specimen collection for offsite lab testing when ordered by Wellness Center medical providers
  • PPD/Tuberculosis Screening
  • Flu shots

 

The Wellness Center is committed to ensuring students still have access to accurate, up-to-date guidance on recommended vaccines, their safety, and how to access them both on campus and within the community.  Please visit Immunization | Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for more information.   

The Wellness Center provides several common immunizations directly to students. For vaccines not offered in our clinic, students can also access immunizations through their local pharmacy or preferred healthcare provider.

 All immunization records should be submitted via the Wellness Center Portal.
Paper and email copies of records are no longer accepted.
