Psychological and Cognitive Testing

At the Wellness Center we administer psychological and cognitive tests to be able to provide formal diagnoses, establish disabilities for appropriate accommodations, and/or to provide guiding information for treatment. Call Mental Health Services at 719-255-4444 for further information about our testing services.

Remote Testing Services

During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Starting fall semester 2020, the UCCS Wellness Center began offering remote testing services for actively enrolled UCCS students. We are prioritizing students who seek academic accommodations from the UCCS Disability Services for a history of learning difficulties and poor grades. Due to our current limitations, we encourage students who are performing well academically but who are “curious” about whether they have ADHD, dyslexia, or another learning disorder to contact a community provider for testing. We will be happy to give you our preferred community providers list. We have the capacity to offer remote testing services to evaluate for:

  • Attention deficits, processing speed deficits, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Verbal Memory & Verbal Learning
  • *Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Personality assessments
  • Clinical Anxiety screens
  • Clinical Depression screens

We do not offer remote testing for Specific Learning Disorders including impairment in reading (Dyslexia), impairment in writing (Dysgraphia), and impairment in mathematics (Dyscalculia). We also do not offer remote testing for PTSD or other trauma disorders.

*We are able to provide limited remote testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder. There are community providers who offer more complete testing for this disorder that we may recommend to students with significant impairments.

We do not offer testing for intellectual developmental disorders (Down Syndrome, Fragile X, etc.). We also do not provide testing for cognitive impairments related to seizures, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, brain surgery, dementia, vascular disease, or other neurocognitive disorders. We recommend that students with these conditions seek neuropsychological testing with a community provider.

We have a wait list for testing services. We cannot offer this service to students who do not reside in Colorado. We are a fee for service clinic. We do not accept medical insurance. We strive to keep our testing costs low.
