Wellness Breaks for UCCS Employees

Wellness Breaks are provided for UCCS employees, with supervisor approval, to help employees improve overall wellbeing, manage stress and improve productivity. Wellness Breaks are structured breaks during the workday for employees to engage in wellness-focused activities. Break time can be used for any activity that promotes wellbeing. Recommended activities include evidence-based interventions for decreasing anxiety, increasing sleep quality, and improving coping and resilience. Examples include physical activity, mindfulness or meditation, and self-care appointments like counseling, massage therapy or acupuncture. Please view the Wellness Breaks Implementation Guide to learn more. To request additional information about implementing Wellness Breaks in your department, please contact Chrissie Bailey, cbailey2@uccs.edu.
