Cooking classes
Our cooking classes strive to make cooking accessible to everyone by providing hands-on experience and instruction to students. Classes center around meals that are nutritional, quick, easy, and affordable. We provide a variety of programs to accommodate varying interests, ages, and ability.
Farmhouse Fridays
During the fall semester, the UCCS Farmhouse, in collaboration with the UCCS Master of Sciences in Nutrition and Dietetics, offers a free?Farm-to-Table Lunch while Wellness Promotion facilitates a mindfulness practice. Set against the backdrop of stunning mountain views, this program provides students with a home cooked meal while promoting health and well-being. As participants take a break from the fast pace of campus life, the mindfulness practice encourages them to slow down and savor their food. This unique experience fosters a deeper connection with people, nutrition, and overall wellness in a peaceful and welcoming environment.
Talking Tables
Talking Tables is a community-building program designed to foster social connections in residential dining halls. By providing structured conversation starters and engaging crafts, Talking Tables creates a welcoming space where students can meet new people, share meaningful discussions, and express creativity. It's a fun and interactive way to promote health and wellbeing, encouraging people to take advantage of the resources and events available to them. The Wellness Wagon is available to collaborate with other campus departments. Reach out to Kristi Webb at kwebb6@uccs.edu.
