Sex Week
Sex Week
Sex Week is an annual series of engaging events, workshops, and discussions focused on sexual health, relationships, consent, and pleasure. With expert speakers, interactive activities, and free resources, Sex Week helps break down stigma and promote open, healthy conversations about sex.
In alignment with educational outcomes for the Wellness Promotion department, messaging for students is approached from a harm reduction lens, as comprehensive sex education is shown to reduce potentially risky behaviors (e.g., number of partners and unprotected intercourse), rates of STIs, and rates of unintended pregnancies. Students are to be empowered to make informed decisions with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to protect their health, make responsible choices, develop positive and respectful relationships, and understand and protect the rights of others.
UCCS Sex Week is typically held mid-February during Valentine’s Day and National Condom Week. Check out our calendars from Sex Week 2025 and Sex Week 2024. (hyperlink “Sex Week Year” with the PDF of calendar).
